Applying

The application process for Exchange students and International students (Freemovers) differs, therefore please click on the relevant link to the right for specific information.

Rules regarding housing application

The rooms will primarily be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. However, as there is only accommodation for approximately 100 students, you must be prepared to make alternative arrangements. There is no guarantee that you will get a room even if you apply before the deadline, so apply as early as you can!

An accepted offer of accommodation is binding and the room will be reserved for a semester or the full academic year. We cannot change your accommodation once it is allocated. This applies both to students who stay for one semester and students who stay for the full academic year.

If you apply after the deadline (15 October/15 May), we cannot offer you a room unless there is a cancellation and none of the students who applied on time accept the room.

Access to your room and conditions 

Students can access rooms from 21 August/14 January. Rent must be paid for the entire period, even if you arrive after 21 August/14 January. It is not possible to get access to the rooms before these dates or on weekends (The Spring semester 2018 is an exception due to arrival day falling on a Sunday).

The period of notice is two full calendar months - we make no exceptions to this rule! When notice is given, students are obliged to pay rent for every full calendar month the room is occupied, even if they move out earlier in the month.

It is obligatory to have insurance coverage for incidences in your home (e.g. water or fire damage). For exchange students the insurance is covered by the University's insurance policy. Freemovers, however, need to apply for home insurance which we can help you with.  

It is only possible to move out on a weekday between 09.00 - 15.30. It is not possible to move out during the weekends and public holidays.

Single student rooms cannot be shared by two students.

Each student will always be held responsible for any damage in his/her room.
Students share responsibility for any damage to the common areas.
