Find books

The library has both printed and electronic books which you can search for in SöderScholar. If you cannot find a certain book, try searching in Libris or at the libraries in the Stockholm region. You can also order an interlibrary loan.

The library has a large number of both printed and electronic books. You can find them in our search tool SöderScholar. You will find where the printed books are placed under "In the library" and links to available electronic books.

SöderScholar also searches for journal articles and other types of media such as films from UR Access. In the  menu to the right, you can narrow the search to  "Books" to get all books or to "Library printed collections" if you are only looking for printed books.

To access all materials in SöderScholar off campus, log in with your SH-credentials or RKH-credentials.

Books outside of the library

If you cannot find what you are looking for in SöderScholar, the national catalog Libris may be the next step. There you can see what books other research libraries in Sweden have got. If you find something of interest, you can order an interlibrary loan from us, as long as the book is not available at any library in the Stockholm region. Then we refer you to go there instead.

Another step could be to search for books at Stockholms stadsbibliotek (public libraries in Stockholm city) or Bibliotek i Stockholms län (public libraries in the Stockholm region). If, for example, all copies of a course book are on loan at our library, you can see if it is available in your local public library.

More about e-books

There are two main advantages to e-books; they are always available, twenty-four hours a day and more people can read the same book at the same time. At home, use your SH-credentials or RKH-credentials to log in and access e-books that you find in SöderScholar.

When it comes to some e-books from the supplier Dawsonera, you can test-read them for five minutes, and make a short-term loan by pressing the button that says "request rental". The library also has e-books from EBL, Ebrary, Sage, Gale and Oxford. Read more about conditions and terms for e-books.
