The library's teaching
Do your students need to learn more about searching for, evaluating and using scholarly information? The library offers teaching on critical information searches for level A and C, and introductions to academic writing for level A.
Abour our teaching
The library´s teaching gives students at Södertörn University or the Red Cross University College the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and abilities to independently and critically search for scholarly information, and to evaluate the reliability and relevance of sources.
Our teaching is primarily for level A in connection to a course assignment and for level C in connection to the students' degree projects. We also cooperate with the Study Support Unit and the Development Unit for University Teaching and Learning with a project called "Introduction to academic writing" for level A.
The teaching is free of charge. It should be integrated into the subjects' course and programme syllabuses and scheduled at a time when the students have a writing assignment within their subject studies that is related to critical information searches. The quality of the teaching increases when planned and evaluated by the librarian and the teacher togheter. The classes takes place in groups of maximum 20 students. We prefer that you inlcude a question about information seaches in the course evaluation.
If you are interested in designing your own acitivites where your students get the opportunity to learn more about searching for, evaluating and using scholarly information, the library can serve as support.
