Parallel publishing in DiVA

Do you want to make your research results freely available? Parallel publishing might be an alternative.

Parallel publishing is a kind of Open Access publishing. It means that you make an already published text freely available in an open archive. As a researcher at Södertörn University and Swedish Red Cross University College you can use the publication database DiVA for parallel publishing. Read more about Södertörn University’s recommendations in the E-publishing policies at Södertörn University (pdf) - swedish language only.

Here is a list of things you will need to consider:

  1. Your work must already be published.
  2. Which version of your work you are permitted to make freely available (often the final, peer-reviewed manuscript). Sometimes there is an embargo period of 6 or 12 months before you are allowed to parallel publish a text. You can find many publishers copyright transfer agreements in SHERPA/RoMEO.
  3. Copyright, for instance, on maps, tables and pictures.

We will create a cover page for your work before it is made available in DiVA. This process can take a couple of days.

You find users guides for registering in DiVA on our DiVA site.
