Students.Our aim is to provide students at Södertörn University with the best possible service and support, so this area of the website gathers practical information that we hope and believe you will find useful.

Do you want to know how to apply to higher education or when the semester starts? Do you need to contact the Student Health Service, or perhaps you are planning to become involved with a student organisation? Do you want to apply for a degree certificate but are unsure how to go about it? Many questions can arise during your studies; if you can't find the answer you need here, please contact one of our study guidance advisors or Student Support Services. They will be happy to help you.

When you start your employment or start studying at Södertörn University, you will get an SH account with username and password.

You can collect your SH-Account from Kontakt- och MedieCenter and your SH-Card from the front desk at reception.

If you already have an SH-Account and have problems logging in, it may be because your password has become locked. Your password must be updated once every 21 months.

Choosing a password

A password must be composed in the following manner:

1. It must have at least 10 characters.
2. It must include the following:

  • A – Z
  • a – z
  • 0 – 9, blank space
  • The following special characters: ~, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, (, ), _, +, -, *, /, =, {, }, [, ], |, \, :, ;, ’ (single quote), ” (double quote), <, >, ,(comma), . (full stop), and ?
  • Do not use Å, Ä or Ö in your password as this may cause problems logging in on some equipment

3. Include at least one upper-case letter, at least one lower-case letter, and at least one special character or number.

4. It may not include your name or username

If you use an Android mobile phone and are having problems logging in, try downloading another browser, e.g. Chrome.In order to log in, you must allow cookies in your web browser. The information in the cookie is used only for this and we do not save any personal information.

Students with SH-Accounts

Change your password via SH-StudyWeb, Office365 or a computer in an ICT suite.

Staff with SH-Accounts

Staff log in via Medarbetarwebben/Min arbetsplats/min profil. Click on the change password link.

When you change your password it is synchronised with all the systems (university computers, DiVA, Office 365, SH-StudyWeb and the university’s wireless network).

NB! It may take up to 15 minutes before your new password works.

Get an EduID!

Get an EduID for the autumn semester! It makes life easier before, during and after your studies.

An EduID is a user ID/login that can used for:

  • Logging in to
  • Activating or restoring your password for your SH-Account (autumn 2018)
  • Logging in to the Ladok student portal
