International Macroeconomics

Course 7,5 credits

The course covers theories about the economy’s capital structure and international flows of financial capital. The economy’s capital structure creates a link between entrepreneurship at the micro level and economic growth at the macro level. Finance, currency and exchange rate policies are covered from the perspective of economic development in a globalised world, where the link between the financial system and the real economy is emphasised. The importance of currency prices for economic calculation is studied and theoretical analysis is applied to the Baltic and Central Asian transforming economies.
