In the thesis published in 2011 (The emergence of enclaves of wealth and poverty, Stockholm University) I have examined residential differentiation taking place in Poland since 1989 with a focus on the emergence and popularity of gated communities.

In 2012-2014 I was a postdoctoral fellow at CBEES (The social landscapes of the political-theme) working with research concerning civil society in Poland and especially movements and mobilizations on housing issues. My research combines urban studies with social movement studies in its focus on urban social movements. I am especially interested in the tenants movement, but also other left-wing movements, of more radical or informal nature, in post-socialist settings.

In 2014 I was affiliated with the University of Gothenburg and the project "Institutional Constraints and Creative Solutions: Civil society in Poland in Comparative Perspective" under the lead of Kerstin Jacobsson (http://civilsocietyinpoland.blogspot.se/).

From 2015 I am leading a project at Södertörn University, financed by the Baltic Sea Foundation, called "Challenging the myths of weak civil society in post-socialist settings: Unexpected alliances and mobilizations in the field of housing activism in Poland".

From 2015 I am affiliated with the Institute for Housing and Urban Reasearch (IBF) at Uppsala University.
