I am working as a project researcher at CBEES and the Department of Culture and Education. In 2009 I defended my thesis at Stockholm University on the Russian poet Marina Cvetaeva, Rendering the Sublime. A Reading of Marina Tsvetaeva's Fairy Tale Poem The Swain. The dissertation was awarded with a special grant from the Swedish Academy. Since then I have worked with the Soviet Russian writer Andrei Platonov in a project financed by the Ahlström and Terserus foundation, and in the multidisciplinary project Loss of Grounds as Common Grounds financed by The Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies. During the summer 2014 I will begin the project Man builds and gets destroyed himself. Aesthetics of the Sublime in Soviet Russian Literature, also funded by The Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies.

The main topic of my research is Russian Literature, and in Russian Literature I have specialized on Romanticism, Modernism and Soviet Literature. I study both poetry and prose. In my research I find it important to relate Russian and Soviet Literature to European literary history, and to fundamental aesthetic and philosophical concepts. I have repeatedly adressed the aesthetic concept of the sublime and its impact on the reception of the Russian Revolution.

I have taught undergraduate courses in Russian Language and Literature at Stockholm and Uppsala University.
