Research

The last few years her research has dealt with the importance of representation in different aspects. Cultural Heritage – creating history for the future (2011-2014), financed by KK-Stiftelsen is a collaborative project between Södertörn University (Charlotte Bydler & Katarina Wadstein MacLeod) and Stockholm Auction House (Lena Rydén and Ulla-Karin Warberg). Narratives of Europe: Perspectives from its North-East Periphery (2012-14) is a inter-disciplinary project at Södertörn University, headed by prof. Johan Fornäs.

In a current project The Domestic Paradox: A comparative study of representations of home and family life in art cutting through an east west divide (2015-2017) the focus is on the theme of domestic environments in 1960s and 70s art. The starting point is the Swedish art scene and the aim is to see how domesticity is a theme of its time, but also its heterogeneous meanings in different bodies of work.
