My research interests are in the area of applied linguistics. As a sociolinguist I investigate language use in society. My particular focus is on organizational and corporate communication and on narrativity and journalism. Among my other spheres of interest are the scientific field of culture and communication, and Swedish as a second language.

I work as a senior lecturer in journalism at Södertörn University. I also work as a researcher at The Academy of Public Administration at Södertörn University. From 2017 I am a co-worker within a research project focusing on monitoring and scrutinizing of schools in Sweden, Poland and Finland. During 2015–2016 I worked as a researcher within the project The Swedish Transport Administration, a modern agency. Within this project I employed a linguistic perspective focusing on organizational identities and cultures.

I am the project leader of a research project focusing on narratives about asylum seekers. In this project we will investigate how the narrative about the asylum seeker is co-contructed by different actors involved in the asylum process: the applicant, the case officer of the Swedish Migration Agency, the interpreter and the applicant’s legal advisor. We will also study the recontextualization of the oral narratives into written texts reproduced in the case documents of the agency.

I have a doctorate from the department of Scandinavian languages, Uppsala University. My thesis from 2014 focuses on corporate storytelling. The title is: When organizations tell stories. Narrativity as a resource in strategic communication (abstract in English).

With a professional backgroound as a journalist I have worked as a reporter and/or editor at several Swedish newspapers and magazines.
