Before coming to Sweden, I taught English and English-related university courses at various levels in the Czech Republic. My specialization and research interests include linguistics, namely pragmatics, language acquisition, and teaching English as a second language. In my recent research, I have focused on means of persuasion in religious discourse and teaching ESP (English for Specific Purposes), as well as ways of increasing the efficiency of the latter.

At Södertörns University, I am currently teaching courses in linguistics (chiefly discourse analysis), English language structure and didactics.

My favorite pastime activities are playing squash, flying model planes, playing piano, and ballroom dancing.
