Writing tutorials

The teachers at the Study Support Unit (Studieverkstan) answer questions and can give advice on academic writing. You can come to us with questions on, for example:

  • how to plan and structure your writing in the best way
  • how to write different types of texts, for example, reports, briefs, essays, theses, critical analyses and articles.
  • what different parts of a text should contain, for instance, what should be contained in the background, the methodology, analysis, discussion etc.
  • what the rules are for quoting, referencing, referring, listing contents etc.
  • how to write in a suitable tone and style.
  • how to amend a text and layout.

For the best possible help from the Study Support Unit do the following:

  • e-mail your text to at least three working days before your booked meeting at the Study Support Unit; and
  • tell us the date and time of your meeting and what you would like help with.

We also offer a course in Academic Reading and Writing Training (“Att skriva akademiskt”; in Swedish language only). Read more about the Academic Reading and Writing Training course here (in Swedish).
