Södertörn University’s student recruitment campaign wins European PR prize

On Thursday night, the “Jag vill något annat” student recruitment campaign, developed by Södertörn University and Gullers Grupp, was honoured at the European Excellence Awards in the Employer Branding & Recruiting category.

The European Excellence Awards is a gala organised by Communication Director, a European journal for PR and communication. During the gala, which was held in Hamburg, 59 entrants in as many classes won awards. Other nominees in the same class as Södertörn University, Employer Branding & Recruiting, included Bundesministerium der Verteidigung, NNG, PVF Yrke & Utbildning and Swedish McDonald’s.Jagvillnå - bild ur kampanjfilmen Jagvillnågotannat, rekryteringskampanj 2017

Gullers Grupp, the PR agency that produced the campaign with the Communication & PR unit at Södertörn University, created an English version of the campaign that was submitted to the competition.

“We are both proud and delighted to receive international recognition,” says Kenneth Wall, Director of Communication at Södertörn University. “As it links the education we offer to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we show how education can help individuals make the world a better place. This feels important and right for us at Södertörn University, and apparently also for the jury of the European Excellence Awards.”

The Jag vill något annat [I want to make a difference] campaign, which was developed in the spring of 2017, builds upon linking the university’s courses and programmes to the 17 global goals and helping potential students choose education that suits them by asking which global issue is most important to them personally.
