14.00-15.00 Josefine Wikström: Ontologisation of Production? A critique of social reproduction theory
Josefine Wikström is a writer and researcher whose work focuses on questions of labour, value and autonomy within the frame of contemporary art, dance and performance. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from CRMEP, London (2017) and works as a Senior Lecturer at Uniarts. She most recently edited Objects of Feminism (2017) and is currently working on a book about performance and labour.
15.15-16.15 David Payne: "Marx and the Law of Generalised Appropriation"
David Payne is Research Editor for Södertörn University Publications. He has for the last couple of years been lecturing in Rhetoric, though his research and teaching background is in Political Theory and contemporary continental Philosophy. He holds a PhD in Political Theory from Essex University, UK (2012). His doctoral thesis explored Pre-Marxian, Marxist and Post-Marxist conceptions of emancipation and human liberation. Subsequent to this, he has written on Marx, Louis Althusser, Lucio Colletti, Ernesto Laclau, and presently is undertaking an investigation into how notions of the proper constitute the absent centre of contemporary political discourse and practice today.
16-30-17.30 Samo Tomsic: Marx as a thinker of catastrophe
Samo Tomsic obtained his PhD in philosophy at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and is currently research fellow at the Humboldt-University Berlin. His areas of expertise comprise continental philosophy (France, Germany), epistemology, structuralism and psychoanalysis. Recent publications include The Capitalist Unconscious: Marx and Lacan (Verso, 2015) and The Labour of Enjoyment (August Verlag, 2019).
