How can we work together to promote sustainable societal development?

Professor James Evans will give a presentation on how Manchester University has worked with “Living Labs”, an open-innovation ecosystem that integrates research and innovation processes within a public-private-people partnership. The presentation is followed by a panel discussion focusing on successful collaborative sustainability.

The overarching aim of the seminar is to catalyse efforts at Södertörn University to build collaborative platforms that address real world sustainability problems in research and education.

We welcome a diverse audience that includes researchers/lecturers and students from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds, as well as representatives from more operational university units, municipalities and local businesses.

Our hope is that the keynote presentation, as well as panel inputs and discussions will illustrate effective ways to build collaboration and to work with others to address real world sustainability problems.

While SustainLab Sh is currently associated with a wide spectrum of sustainability issues in Sweden and beyond, much of the focus in this seminar will be on how universities (and Södertörn in particular) can contribute to meeting regional/local sustainability challenges.
