Keynote 2
Professor Kristin Strømsnes: The state of civil society and civil society research in Norway
This keynote gives an overview of what we know about Norwegian (and Scandinavian) civil society after more than a generation of research, covering changes at the organizational and individual levels as well as in the state-organization relationship. How do important social transformations as increased individualization, increased level of immigration, ongoing digitalization processes, and the introduction of New Public Management within the public sector affect civil society over time?
Kristin Strømsnes is a Professor at the Department of Comparative Politics. Among her main research interests are political participation and mobilization, voluntary organizations and social capital, as well as Sámi indigenous citizenship.
