Welcome to a higher seminar in Media and Communication Studies with Henrik Lindström, Group Product Manager, and Jussi Karlgren, Principal Research Scientist at Spotify.

In this seminar, we will discuss what Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence are, and how technology is being used in practice to deliver relevant, and personalized content recommendations at scale. We will demystify how the underlying algorithms work, and give an overview of common approaches and some challenges. In addition, we will give concrete examples of how we at Spotify leverage Machine Learning to ensure high quality recommendations on “Home”, the Spotify start page, as well as in Search.
