Employment impact of renewable energy

Higher seminar arranged by Economics at the School pf Social Sciences, Södertörns University.

In this seminar, Erik Gråd will present his ongoing research that will be the final part of his doctoral thesis. This project aims at investigating the employment impact of renewable energy. Changes in renewable energy can create employment opportunities and bolster sustainable economic growth. In this study, we investigate the nature of the employment effect and whether it is driven by the possible substitution effect from non-renewable resources. We use data from the European Union, with an additional focus on Baltic Sea states. A panel vector auto regression (PVAR) model is used as well as forecast error-variance decomposition (FEVD) analysis.
