Milda Malling, PhD candidate (SH/Mitthögskolan): “Trust depends on a context. Reconstruction of trust dynamics between journalists and their political sources”,

When do journalists trust/distrust their sources and why? Can social relationships, and formality vs informality in the relationships, influence journalists’ decision to trust? The projects analyzes dynamics, reciprocity and multiplexity of trust. It shows that even less credible sources are perceived to be very credible in a situational context. The study is based on 500 reconstructed interactions between journalists covering national politics in Lithuania and Sweden.
