CBEES Roundtable: Where is Russia going?
After more than nine months of warfare in Ukraine, there are many questions concerning the status of politics and society in Russia. Join the CBEES Roundtable online and on-site to explore the areas covering politics, society, economics, and possible future outcomes!
Media occasionally reports on anti-war protests, inner splits within the power elite or other forms of opposition, but how can we understand the larger picture of Russia's political and social processes in the face of war? And what can we actually know -- is this Putin's war or Kremlin's? What kind of support does the war enjoy in Russian society? Is there any opposition?
Furthermore, what are the economic and political consequences of the sanctions against the Russian elites and society? Do they seem to have the intended effects?
CBEES has invited a few prominent scholars to discuss the current situation in Russia and possible future scenarios.
If you cannot join the event on-site, please register below for online webcasting.
