US Politics and its Implications for Media Freedom, Ukraine and Central Asia. Europe’s Responses
The Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES) continues its midday open roundtable discussions in response to the rapid changes in international politics, which are affecting the CBEES regions of studies in many ways.
The Trump administration, governing through Executive Orders, has made the decision to shut down several media channels that historically provided reliable information to citizens of authoritarian countries. Voice of America staff put on leave. At the same time, the Trump administration ends the tracking of kidnapped Ukrainian children in Russia. What can the EU do to counter disinformation produced by Russia? What are the impacts of Trump's policies on Central Asia, Ukraine and Europe?
