Last year's honorary doctor Wendy Brown will be visiting Södertörn University in connection with the Commencement ceremony. Students and staff are warmly welcome to take part in the conversation, which will be led by Jenny Gunnarsson Payne.

Welcome to a conversation between Wendy Brown, Professor of Political Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and new Honorary Doctor at Södertörn University, and Jenny Gunnarsson Payne, Professor of Ethnology. Together they will discuss a range of current issues relevant to the times we live in now.

Topics of conversation will centre on themes that Wendy Brown has worked on throughout her career but which are also of concern to all of us - as people, citizens, students and researchers - including issues such as ‘nihilism’, ‘tolerance’ and the consequences of neoliberalism, as well as what it really means to ‘think critically’ and what her latest thinking on restorative democracy means.

The talk will be held in connection with the Academic Ceremony and both students and staff at Södertörn University are warmly welcome. The conversation will be held in English.
