I’m a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Baltic and East European Studies (CBEES), Södertörn University. Author of the monograph “Dealing with the Yugoslav past: exhibitions reflections in the successor states”, ibidem-Verlag, 2017 and edited volume “Late Modernity in Transformation: Migrations, Culture and Economics”, Cambridge Scholar Publishing, 2015 in co-authorship with M.Makarovic and E.Danilova. Member of the advisory board at Cambridge Scholar Publishing and representative of the Ukrainian Institute of Sweden.
In my postdoctoral research I seek to analyze the formation of newest discourses on Crimean Tatar representation in Ukraine and at the same time aspire to understand how and to what extent community by itself boosts constructing these images. Understanding the specifics of adaptation of Crimean Tatars into the urban environment of the mainland Ukraine since the annexation of Crimea and forced resettlement that followed it is the second task to be achieved.
I’m glad to have chance to organize seminars focusing on Ukraine:
- Open lecture with Yuri Andrukhovych entiteled "Central-Eastern Europe: Brief History of Mutations" (in cooperation with Ukrainian Institute of Sweden)
- Lunch seminar with Paul Robert Magocsi on "Jews and Ukrainians: A Millennium of Co-Existence" (in cooperation with the Ukrainian Jewish Encounter)
- Discussion with journalist Roman Bochkala: "Ukraine at War: Media in Action. Stories from the Battlefield" (in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine)
- Screening of "Jamala.ua" documentary and virtual discussion with Anna Akylevych (in cooperation with Unga Ukrainare)
Contributor to the organization of yearly "Nordic Ukrainian Film Festival".
