Liudmila Voronova defended her doctoral dissertation Gendering in Political Journalism: A Comparative Study of Russia and Sweden in 2014. Her research interests lie within the intersection of comparative studies of journalism cultures, political communication research, and gender and media studies. Currently Liudmila is involved in a comparative research project on photojournalism education, "Photographic realism in the digital media age. Photojournalism and visual literacy in Russia and Sweden" funded by the Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies (2018-2020, project leader - Patrik Åker). She was earlier involved in a research project on information management in Ukraine in the period of conflict, “Propaganda and management of information in the Ukraine-Russia conflict: From nation branding to information war” funded by the Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies (2016-2018, project leader – Per Ståhlberg). Faculty of Journalism, Moscow State University alumni, Liudmila worked for several Russian media and was a project manager at the Russian Union of Journalists. She is coordinating the International Master’s Program in Journalism, and teaching and supervising students on master level.
