Students on distance learning courses

If you are a student on a distance learning course at Södertörn university or the Sedish Red Cross University, you can use the library to borrow books, search information and get support in any library matters. If you live outside of Stockholm, you can also get books sent to your home address, free of charge.

Borrow books

If you live in Stockholm

You can not get books sent home within the Stockholm area. Borrow by coming to the library and present your ID at the information desk. You can choose to get an SH card/library card, but this is not something the library demands. See the page Borrow for information about lending periods.

If you live outside of Stockholm

If you live in Sweden but outside of the Stockholm area (meaning having a post code not beginning with "1") and are a student on a distance learning course at Södertörn University or the Swedish Red Cross University, you can have books sent to your home, free of charge.

The loan period for "distance loans" is one week longer than the usual on course books, which means you can keep the books for 14 days. Please note that you are personally responsible that the books reach the library, and that you must cover the postage costs for returns.

  • Go to the library search tool SöderScholar External link..
  • Find the book you would like to borrow and click "Reserve". If the book is available, you must ask the library to reserve it for you.
  • Log in if you are not already logged in.
  • We will mail your books to your home. Return the books by mail to Södertörns högskolebibliotek, 141 89 Huddinge. Note that you must pay the postage costs.

Printed books, e-books, databases and more
