Open for students and staff members - still closed to the public

The library is open to students and staff members at Södertörn University (SH), The Swedish Red Cross University College (RKH) and SMI. You need a key card (SH card) to enter. Read more about how to get your card.

We will continue to stay closed to the public (including for example students at Stockholm university, KI and KTH). We regret this, and look forward to seeing you when it is possible.

Update 20 December: Opening hours

Due to further restrictions, opening hours are now further limited. See current opening hours on the page Contact and opening hours. Please note that the information desk is only staffed parts of the opening hours. If you need to pick up an inter-library loan, you must do so during the staffed hours. Reserved books are placed in the Day loans room, so you can access them during the entire opening hours.

Considering the development of the virus, we may need to close or change opening hours at short notice due to new directives or staff shortages. We will keep this news article updated and update the opening hours on the website as soon as something changes.

Group rooms

All group rooms are closed for the time being. The resource room External link, opens in new window., for students with reading impairments, will still be open, for one valid user at a time.

Of course, the guidelines of the Public Health Authority apply, meaning not to go out with symptoms or close contact with the infected. See Recommendations due to the corona virus, Covid-19 for information from Södertörn University (news article, updated regularly).

Keep a distance of 1,5 meters to other people, visitors as well as members of staff. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before entering and leaving.

Reemember to keep a distance while awaiting your turn. No more than 2 persons are allowed at the same time in the copy rooms.

Update 24 November: Group studies

Don't work in groups at the library. If you need to, you may continue to use the study environment, but only for solo studies.

If you need to pick up a reserved book, but don't want, can or is allowed to enter the library, you may send another person to get it for you. The other person must bring your as well as their own valid ID. Since the outer doors of the library are currently locked due to the pandemic, they must, for the time being, be a student or member of staff at either SH, RKH or SMI. They need a key card of their own in order to enter. In case you no longer need a book you reserved, please notify us so someone else can have it. Since 6 May, only students and members of staff at SH, RKH and SMI can borrow.

Return a book

You can always return books in the book drop to the left of the entrance. You can also post the book to Södertörns högskolebibliotek, 141 89 Huddinge. Please note that you must pay postage costs.
