Information from the library due to the Corona virus outbreak

Update 20 August: The library will reopen to the public

Starting on Monday 23 August the library will finally reopen to the public. This means that our entrance doors will be unlocked and key cards will not be necessary.

Update 20 August: Opening hours

Opening hours are still restricted compared to normal, but starting on Monday 23 August, they are increased. Please note that the information desk is only staffed parts of the opening hours. If you need to pick up an inter-library loan, you must do so during the staffed hours. Reserved books are placed in the Day loans room, so you can access them during the entire opening hours. See current opening hours on the page Contact and opening hours.

Considering the development of the virus, we may need to close or change opening hours at short notice due to new directives or staff shortages. We will keep this news article updated and update the opening hours on the website as soon as something changes.

Group rooms

All group rooms are closed for the time being. The resource room External link, opens in new window., for students with reading impairments, will still be open, for one valid user at a time.

Visit

Of course, the guidelines of the Public Health Authority apply, meaning not to go out with symptoms or close contact with the infected. See Recommendations due to the corona virus, Covid-19 for information from Södertörn University (news article, updated regularly).

Keep a distance of 1,5 meters to other people, visitors as well as members of staff. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before entering and leaving.

Reemember to keep a distance while awaiting your turn. No more than 2 persons are allowed at the same time in the copy rooms.

Update 24 November: Group studies

Don't work in groups at the library. If you need to, you may continue to use the study environment, but only for solo studies.

Borrow

If you need to pick up a reserved book, but don't want, can or is allowed to enter the library, you may send another person to get it for you. The other person must bring your as well as their own valid ID. In case you no longer need a book you reserved, please notify us so someone else can have it.

Return a book

You can always return books in the book drop to the left of the entrance. You can also post the book to Södertörns högskolebibliotek, 141 89 Huddinge. Please note that you must pay postage costs.

Overdue fines

All overdue fines are now reinstated. They were retroactively removed on course books 11 March–23 August, but are now back in use.

E-books, online journals and databases

As a student or member of staff at SH or RKH, you get access all our online resources from home, as usual. You will find information on how to log in on the pages SH: Access to databases and other e-resources and RKH: Access to databases and other e-resources.

Tutoring in information seeking and references

We offer prebooked tutor sessions via the online tool Zoom will return. Drop in sessions are suspended until further notice. Contact via biblioteket@sh.se.

Introductions to accessible media

Are you in need of accessible media due to a reading impairment? Our Accessible media service team welcome you. Introductions are given online, usually via the online tool Zoom. Book by filling out the form Get talking books and other accessible media. Contact via talbok@sh.se.

Recurring events
