Information from the library due to the Corona virus outbreak

On this page you will find all the current information on what we offer - online as well as in the library building. The information will be updated regularly. Latest update 4 October.

Update 20 August: The library is now open to the public

Starting on Monday 23 August the library will finally reopen to the public. This means that our entrance doors will be unlocked and key cards will not be necessary.

Update 23 September: Opening hours

Starting on 1 November, we will go back to regular opening hours, meaning open on evenings and weekends.

Until then, these are the opening hours currently in use:

The information desk is staffed 10:00–17:00.



Open to the public since 23 August. Starting on 1 November, opening hours will be back to normal (open on evenings and weekends).

Please note that the information desk is not staffed in the mornings. If you need to pick up an inter-library loan, you must do so during the staffed hours. Reserved books are placed in the Day loans room, so you can access them during the entire opening hours.

Update 4 October: Group rooms

Of course, the guidelines of the Public Health Authority apply, meaning not to go out with symptoms or close contact with the infected. See Recommendations due to the corona virus, Covid-19 for information from Södertörn University (news article, updated regularly).

Keep a distance of 1,5 meters to other people, visitors as well as members of staff. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before entering and leaving.

Reemember to keep a distance while awaiting your turn. No more than 2 persons are allowed at the same time in the copy rooms.


If you need to pick up a reserved book, but don't want, can or is allowed to enter the library, you may send another person to get it for you. The other person must bring your as well as their own valid ID. In case you no longer need a book you reserved, please notify us so someone else can have it.

Return a book

You can always return books in the book drop to the left of the entrance. You can also post the book to Södertörns högskolebibliotek, 141 89 Huddinge. Please note that you must pay postage costs.

Overdue fines

If you're late returning a book, you will get an overdue fine, as in any case. All details can be found on the page Overdue fines and invoices.

E-books, online journals and databases

As a student or member of staff at SH or RKH, you get access all our online resources from home, as usual. You will find information on how to log in on the pages SH: Access to databases and other e-resources and RKH: Access to databases and other e-resources.
