Welcome to 2022’s Södertörn Celebrates!
After a two-year hiatus, it is finally time to celebrate our newly graduated doctors, our amazing teaching staff and our former students. At 11.30 on 14 September, students, staff and anyone with an interest are welcome to join us in the Library.
In association with the Commencement Ceremony, Södertörn University and the SöderS students’ union want to take the opportunity to put a little extra focus on our researchers, students and teaching staff. We will therefore be holding panel discussions and awarding prizes in the Library at 11.30 on Wednesday 14 September.
The host will be pro-vice-chancellor Nils Ekedahl and the programme begins with a conversation between three of this year’s new graduands: Camilla Larsson (Art History) and Adria Alcoverro (Political Science). The discussion is led by Stina Bengtsson, chair of the Faculty Board. If you are thinking about continuing along an academic path and are curious about what it is like to be a doctoral student at Södertörn University, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss.
The next item on the programme is celebrating the Alumnus of the Year, who will share memories of their time as a student, why they chose Södertörn University and their career after graduating.
Södertörn Celebrates concludes with SöderS students’ union awarding the Guldgripen Prize to the best teacher of the year. Who that is? Come to the Library and find out!
Students, colleagues, subject representatives, interested members of the public – you are all welcome to join us in celebrating our graduands, alumni and favourite teachers. Södertörn Celebrates will also be streamed live via Zoom.
