Ten Participants Selected for Södertörn University’s H&ART Incubator

The H&ART Incubator is part of the KreativEU European university alliance and offers a unique environment where art, cultural heritage, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and technology converge. The incubator at Södertörn University is one of eleven H&ART incubators across Europe, which combine local support with access to an international network of mentors, experts and collaborative partners.

The ten selected participants represent a diverse range of ideas and initiatives across the cultural and creative field. Thanks to the programme, they will receive individual coaching, mentoring, training opportunities, networking events and other development activities that aim to enhance their projects and contribute to innovation in their fields.

The ten participants demonstrate the creativity, drive and vision needed to develop the initiatives of tomorrow within art, culture and cultural heritage,” says Petra Norling, collaboration strategist at Södertörn University. “We have also seen significant interest from individuals who wish to become mentors, which is very encouraging. We are truly looking forward to launching this pilot edition of H&ART.”

H&ART Incubator is not a traditional business incubator. Its purpose is to create new opportunities at the intersection of education, research, innovation and society. Through collaboration between universities, cultural institutions, creative enterprises, public-sector organisations and civil society, the programme aims to support the development of both individuals and ideas.

The programme begins this autumn and will include activities at Innovation Station, Södertörn University’s innovation hub, as well as joint activities with the other H&ART incubators in the KreativEU alliance. Participants will therefore have the opportunity to build international networks and benefit from the expertise available at universities and organisations in eleven European countries.

H&ART Incubator (Heritage & Art Incubator) supports the development of ideas, projects and activities in the fields of art, cultural heritage, and the cultural and creative sectors through mentoring, training, networking, expert support and international collaboration. The incubator at Södertörn University is part of the KreativEU – Knowledge & Creativity European University alliance, and is supported by six associated partners: Huddinge Municipality, Botkyrka Municipality, Flemingsberg Science Foundation, Subtopia, the Nationalmuseum and the Swedish National Archives.

The ten individuals and teams in the first incubator programme are developing projects ranging from crafts and documentary filmmaking to choreography, gaming and virtual fashion.

The participants and their projects will be presented at the launch event for H&ART on 16 September and at various events throughout the year.
