Information for staff and students about the coronavirus

The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to China’s Hubei province, the region most affected by the outbreak of the new coronavirus. It also advises against all non-essential travel to Zhejiang province. This travel advisory will remain in place until further notice. Staff and students are encouraged to follow the recommendations of the relevant authorities.

Södertörn University is monitoring the events surrounding the spread of the coronavirus and following the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Södertörn University issues the following recommendations to all staff and students:

  • The university advises against travel to China’s Hubei province and non-essential travel to Zhejiang province, in accordance with the recommendation from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
  • If you have planned travel to China, please follow developments and the travel recommendations issued by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
  • Planned visits from Hubei province to the university must be cancelled until further notice.

Södertörn University currently has no students on exchange or MFS in China. According to our travel agency (Stureplans Affärsresebyrå) there are no staff members in China for work purposes.
