On 8 and 23 December, new recommendations were introduced due to the increasing rates of infection in the community. These new recommendations do not in themselves have a great impact on university activities, but it is very important that we continue to show consideration and help to reduce the spread of infection. We can do this by:
"We understand that many people are concerned about the situation, and wish to clarify that the signals we have received from the Government and the Public Health Agency are that the new recommendations are designed so the higher education institutions will be able to continue operating and offering face-to-face teaching. Of course, as previously, we are adapting and will avoid large gatherings,” says Vice-Chancellor Gustav Amberg.
Södertörn University has some face to face teaching. Of course, we are prepared to reset and fully return to remote teaching if necessary, and we are following the recommendations of the authorities. We provide continual updates to general information for students at Student - Södertörns högskola;. More specific information is available on SH-StudyWeb for each course/programme. The FAQs on our website have the answers to common questions, but if you have a question that isn’t answered there, you are welcome to contact Infocenter via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also planning for on-campus teaching in the spring semester, but will of course adapt to the changes and decisions made by the relevant authorities.
Although we have moved to more on-campus classes, many programmes and courses still have elements of remote learning. Your timetable will tell you whether or not you will be on campus, so it is important that you stay updated about what it says. Please check your timetable regularly and stay up to date about what applies to your course(s).
For new students, it is easiest to find your timetable by going to Register and then searching for your course or programme. For current students, it is easiest to access your timetable via your courseroom on SH-StudyWeb. You can always search for your timetable in the Timetable Search.
If you have applied for courses or programmes that start in the spring, information is published under “Register” at sh.se/incomingstudents External link..
We are continuing to follow the recommendations
"Since March 2020, Södertörn University has implemented strict restrictions to help reduce the spread of infection. Naturally, we will continue to comply with the recommendations issued by the Government and expert authorities," concludes Gustav Amberg, vice-chancellor.
