This distance course focuses on essay writing on a specific issue in Antigypsyism and Afrophobia, Antisemitism, Islamophobia, anti-Sami racism or racism in general. You could focus on historical or contemporary events, media discourse, depictions in art or popular culture, or comparisons between mobilisations against different forms of racism.

A scholarly approach to writing on Antigypsyism On this course, you apply your previously gained knowledge of comparative perspectives on Antigypsyism in scholarly discussion and writing, producing an essay on a specific issue. You will learn to apply methodological and theoretical perspectives, as well as use the literature and previous research to present your arguments. You will also conduct a peer review of another student’s essay. The course is taught through supervision and seminars, and assessed through your essay writing and peer review – both your response to one and your review of a fellow student’s work.
