What's included?

Research in education, globalisation and societal justice

On this course, you will learn how to explain concepts and theories relevant to the educational research field of globalisation and societal justice, and how to describe developments in this field. You will explore research about the educational challenges that arise in a globalised and multicultural society, for example issues relating to interculturality, citizenship, and individual participation in society; this area of study is characterised by an interest in individual emancipation. You will also problematise and analyse the systems and structures that maintain inequality and discrimination, at structural and individual levels. In addition, the course includes issues of scientific theory and introduces narrative inquiry as a research method.

Course design

Teaching is conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. Learning outcomes are assessed through a take-home examination, oral presentations and seminar participation.
