There are three basic levels of study in Swedish higher education.
Bachelor (first cycle)
Education at Bachelor’s level takes the form of three-year Bachelor’s programmes (180 credits) and freestanding courses.
Some Bachelor’s degrees that lead to professions, such as teacher education and social work, have special rules.
Master (second cycle)
Education at Master’s level is provided as one-year Master’s programmes (60 credits), two-year Master’s programmes (120 credits) and freestanding courses.
Doctoral (third cycle)
Södertörn University offers education at doctoral level.
