Your studies will be starting soon, and I hope you will really benefit from them. As Södertörn University’s vice-chancellor, I believe that higher education creates many opportunities and can offer new friends and new perspectives. Your time as a student will help shape your courses and your university. One important element of my position as vice-chancellor is ensuring that we make space for your enthusiasm and that it is put to good use.

Our campus is in an exciting phase of development, and has a library that can help with your studies – it is also a natural meeting place for many students.

You must register on your course or programme, otherwise you will lose your place. Important information about this will be emailed to you in the next two weeks, and more information is available at our page for incoming students.

Welcome to SöderS!

Welcome to Södertörn University! We are SöderS – your vibrant campus, your space for student politics and, above all, your students’ union. We are here to safeguard your studies, your student life and your rights.

At SöderS, we do all we can to ensure that your first semester here at Södertörn University gets off to the best possible start. So, even before your studies begin, we are holding the Smygstartsvecka – a week that gives you a head start. Take the chance to get to know the campus, find new favourite places and meet both new and old students. There will be guided tours, fun activities and the chance to hang out in our student pub – SöderS Pub – which is open every Wednesday and Friday during the academic year.

Every autumn semester, our student associations organise welcome events for new students, both before and after the start of the academic year. Participating in a welcome week brings memories for a lifetime and opportunities to make friends outside the classroom. Studies get properly underway on 31 August. We begin Terminsstartsveckan – the first week of the semester – with a formal welcome from the university’s vice-chancellor and the chair of the students’ union. You will have the chance to meet our student associations and find out about activities, get to know our partners, discover all of Campus Flemingsberg, and – of course – join the students’ union!

On campus, you’ll find us on level 5 of the F Building – turn right after you exit the escalators to campus from Flemingsberg station.
