Your studies will be starting soon, and I hope you will really benefit from them. As Södertörn University’s vice-chancellor, I believe that higher education creates many opportunities and can offer new friends and new perspectives. Your time as a student will help shape your courses and your university. One important element of my position as vice-chancellor is ensuring that we make space for your enthusiasm and that it is put to good use.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and your fellow students in various contexts over the next few years. Our campus is in an exciting phase of development, and has a library that can help with your studies – it is also a natural meeting place for many students.

Welcome to SöderS!

Welcome to SöderS - Södertörn University student union! We are SöderS – your student organization, your vibrant campus community, your democratic space, and above all, your student union. We care about you, your student life and experience, and your rights as a student.

At SöderS, we do everything we can to make sure your first semester at Södertörn University starts in the best possible way. Even before your studies begin, we invite you to our Sneak-Start (“Smygstart”), where you'll have the chance to explore the campus, discover new favorite spots, and meet both new and returning students. There will be guided tours, opportunities to buy course literature, and hangouts at our very own student pub – SöderS Pub – which is open every Wednesday and Friday during the academic year!

The week before the semester starts, we are also hosting SöderS Kick-Off (Inspark)! From January 12–16, we invite all new students to a week filled with activities, community, and opportunities to get to know both the campus and each other. More information coming soon – stay tuned!

On January 19th, the academic term officially begins, and we’ll kick off the semester’s Starting Week with a ceremonial welcome from both the university’s Vice-Chancellor and the President of the student union. You'll have the opportunity to meet our student associations and services, connect with our partners, explore the entire Flemingsberg Campus, and of course, become a member of the student union!
