The August, 2020 presidential elections in Belarus, widely perceived as fraudulent, triggered a wave of unprecedented civic protest.
What triggered the protest, and what demands are being articulated? What are the origins of authoritarianism in Belarus and why do women play such a prominent role in the protests?
