Imagining different futures together – Intimate AI
Advanced Seminar in Media Technology with Lina Eklund, associate professor of Human-Computer Interaction at the Department of Informatics and Media at Uppsala University.
In this seminar Lina Eklund will present preliminary results from two ongoing research projects that address digitalization processes with a focus on the intimate spheres of life. The first project explores user experiences in conjunction with the historical, medical, and technological normativities which intersect with the use of technologies for the management of reproductive health. The second project, Intimate AI, explores the way that artificial technology is now part of everyday, and intimate spheres of life.
Lina Eklund is an Associate Professor in Human-Computer Interaction, a senior lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University, and section leader for the Human-Computer Interaction unit. Her work focuses on technology in the intimate, and private sphere of life where she studies the relation between technological structure and user agency. Currently, she is leading the research projects Intimate AI: Knowledge from the Machine and Controlling the Uncontrollable: The Impact of Reproductive Health Apps on Experiences of Pregnancy, Healthcare Professionals’ Work and Data Governance.
Seminars will normally be held on-site. If marked as hybrid, contact Karin.hansson@sh.se if you wish to participate online.
