Public opening of Atmospheric forest, Smite & Smits, Art Space Södertörn

The Art installation Atmospheric Forest by the lettish artist duo Rasa Smite & Raitis Smits, visualises the complex relationship between a forest, climate change and the atmosphere.

Atmospheric forest is an art installation about the communication between forest and climate through video art, immersive VR and objects. The artists have conducted direct research into the impact of climate change on forests. Here, the interaction patterns between the emissions of the pines in Pfynwald, an old Swiss alpine forest, and the local weather conditions which is strongly affected by drought, emerges. The exhibition additionally presents their collaboration with natural scientists.
