As part of the three-day workshop 'Psychosocial Dynamics of Habitus' at Södertörn
University, this open keynote lecture draws on a seven-year study of working- and
middle-class students at two Bristol universities, tracking their journeys from first year
through four years after graduation. It explores how social class, habitus, and emotional ties
shape experiences, orientations, and outcomes in higher education and beyond.
