Community perspectives to clean and renewable energy
Warmly welcome to an interdisciplinary research seminar about "Community perspectives to clean and renewable energy". The seminar is organised by Environmental Sciences and Business Studies at Södertörn University, in collaboration with the National Archipelago Federation.
Presenters include Natallia Pashkevich, Paulina Rytkönen, and Ekaterina Tarasova (Södertörn University), Sten Åke Persson (National Archipelago Federation), and Simon Haikola (Linköping University). The seminar will begin with presentations from all speakers, followed by a short break and a panel discussion.
This research seminar explores the adoption of clean energy technologies and community perspectives on the clean energy transition. It discusses how environmental goals, technological solutions, and local development ambitions interact in contexts shaped by geographical and institutional conditions. A central focus is on how different stakeholders, such as municipalities, businesses, technology providers, and local communities understand and respond to clean energy initiatives, and how these differing perspectives can create both opportunities and tensions. The seminar also highlights how contextual factors, including spatial conditions and infrastructure, influence which technologies are considered suitable and how they are implemented.
