Sheila Ghose holds a PhD from New York University, an MA in Critical and Cultural Theory from the University of Wales (UK), and a BA from Stockholm University, and has taught at NYU and a number of Swedish universities. Her recent scholarship focuses on the nexus between refugee studies, human rights, and life writing. Previously, she has worked on a study of privileged authors’ use of fake memoirs and plagiarized novels to claim minority and postcolonial subjectivities. In addition, she has published on British Asian literature. She is co-editor of the collection Refugee Genres: Essays on the Culture of Flight and Refugee, forthcoming in 2022. Her teaching and research interests include postcolonial literature and theory, minority discourse, gender studies, cultural studies, and modern critical theory.
