The conference will bring together scholars and researchers from fields relating to the visual arts, cultural studies, media, and aesthetics to discuss questions about the relationship between art and Revolution in Russia.

Day 2, October 20, Friday, 09.30 - 17.30 – Södertörn University, Alfred Nobel’s alle, 7. Flemingsberg, Room: MA 796; Keynote: Room MB 313 (Svarta Lådan)

Day 3, October 21, Saturday, 10.00 – 18.00 – Moderna Museet, Exercisplan 4, 111 49 Stockholm Room: Auditorium. There will be signs at the museum that will lead your way, you can also ask at the reception to get help with finding the room. 

How to get to Stockholm center from the Arlanda Airport:

Upon arrival to the Arlanda you can either take and Arlanda Express train to T-Centralen (Stockholm Central Station), 20 min travel, or a Flygbussarna – a bus. The tickets to the train may be bought online or at the airport. Bus tickets can be bought at the airport. Credit cards or Swedish Kronas are accepted. It will take 20 minutes. You can see all their prices here. 

To travel around the city by public transport you will need an SL card that can be bought at Pressbyran store located at the airport and practically at each T-bana (Metro) Station. You will need to buy a blue SL card and charge it with the money. You can choose between the 24 h, 72 h or 7 day cards depending on how long you are going to stay in the town. The SL card is valid for all types of Stockholm transport.

Those who wish to go from the airport directly to the conference opening at Färgfabriken may consider going there directly from the Arlanda airport. Please, choose the bus that goes to Liljeholmen. You can walk to the Färgfabriken from there. Färgfabriken is a great place to visit, so do not hesitate to come earlier!

How to get to Södertörn University

From the Central Railway station, take a Pendeltåg towards Södertälje (usually platforms 13/14), stay at Flemingsberg. The trip will take approx. 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Flemingsberg station, turn to right and take the big escalators. You have arrived at the Södertörn University campus! (See attached Campus map on the right.) Please, follow the signs to the conference. It will take place at the BEEGS Center, 7 th floor, Room MA 796. If you are lost, please, go the reception and they will help you find your way. 

The keynote lecture at Södertörn University will take place at Room MB 313 (Black Box or Svarta Lådan)

Hotel

All conference presenters are staying at the same hotel: Birger Jarl, Tulegatan 8, Stockholm. The rooms are booked on your names.

Those speakers that need to proceed with the paperwork regarding tickets will receive further instructions at the registration

Preparation for the presentations

We would kindly ask you to bring your presentations on a flash disk and give them to me 1 day prior to your presentation or send them to irina.seits@sh.se at least 1 day prior to your presentation.

Would you please notify me if you are going to demonstrate video clips, if you need internet connection during your presentation, if you need any special technical support and/or if you use other presentation formats than PowerPoint Presentations.

Presentations should be no longer than 20 min

Meals and lunches

All presenters will be provided with the lunches and dinners as well as coffee breaks on the Day 2 and Day 3. Visitors to the conference are welcome to the coffee breaks. Mingle is provided for the presenters and visitors on the Day 1 at Färgfabriken.
