Best, Henning, and Christof Wolf (Eds.). (2014). The Sage handbook of regression analysis and causal inference (chapters 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8). London: SAGE Publications Ltd.

This book is available (digital copies) via the libraries of Södertörn University as well as Stockholm University.

Jenkins-Smith, Hank C., Joseph T. Ripberger, Gary Copeland, Matthew C. Nowlin, Tyler Hughes, Aaron L. Fister, & Wesley Wehde. Quantitative Research Methods for Political Science, Public Policy and Public Administration: 4th Edition With Applications in R (the book is available on https://bookdown.org/josiesmith/qrmbook/).

The 3rd edition can also be used. It contains has a different layout (it is not written in Markdown) and it might be experienced as a more “normal” book. On the downside, it doesn’t use ggplot2 for graphs (so if you’re interested in producing good graphs, you should probably stick to the 4th edition).

Navarro, Danielle (Version 0.6). Learning Statistics with R: A Tutorial for Psychology Students and Other Beginners. (The book is available from its own web site: https://learningstatisticswithr.com/).

Additional articles may be added during the course.

Notes on the literature:

The major (theoretical) parts of the book by Navarro covers prerequisite knowledge, but it is nevertheless a good introduction to R. Skim through the book to make sure you are up to date. This course takes off at linear regression (chapter 15).

Since regression is the main focus of this course, chapters 1-6 in the book by Jenkins-Smith et.al. covers prerequisite knowledge.
