Bachelor's degree in Humanities or Social Sciences subject, and English 6 or English B or equivalent.

Course content, modules and examinations

The purpose of this course is to impart knowledge about the profession of journalism in crises and conflicts. The course covers research on journalism's role in social conflicts and in peace and development efforts. The course is based on findings in current research into journalism and experience in practical journalism with examples from crises and conflicts in Europe and other continents. The working language of the course is English.

Course design

Teaching is conducted through lectures, seminars, group work and individual assignments.

Examination format

Participation in seminars, oral and written assignments as well as a written take-home examination.

Occasional missed seminars or other compulsory exercises may, after consultation with the examiner, be compensated with written assignments. The grading criteria are distibuted prior to start of a course or module.

Restrictions on accreditation
