The course covers fundamental theories about international cooperation, considering areas such as security, economics, environment, human rights and sustainable development. The point of departure for the course is the consequences and challenges of globalisation in world politics, and states' degree of interdependence and the extent to which this encourages or counteracts shared problem-solving. The course also problematises factors such as conflicts, competing interests and national sovereignty, which may lead to states foregoing cooperation.

This course is only open for exchange students.
