If you are interested in societal issues and want to apply this perspective in your education, then Sociology is the subject for you. This is also the case if you want to understand how society works. How do politics and economics, ideology and religion, the individual and the collective interact? As a science, Sociology is interested in different types of social processes and relationships, everything from overarching societal change to people’s encounters in their everyday lives. Sociologist try to explain social processes and the consequences of people’s actions and relationships.

With Sociology as your main field of study, you will learn to reflect critically on various societal phenomena and to see the links between them, in association with the programme you are studying. Important areas of research include issues of societal organisation, politically and socially, and societal sustainability in areas of socioeconomic deprivation.
