I conduct research on nationalism, state-building processes, and international affairs with a focus on post-Soviet Eurasia.
In my doctoral dissertation External link., I examined the efforts of the Georgian government following the Rose Revolution to integrate two borderlands, one populated by Armenians (Javakheti) and the other by Azeris (Kvemo Kartli). I have earlier worked as an analyst for the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI External link.), as a postdoc (SYLFF Fellow External link.) at the Department of Government, Uppsala University, and as a researcher at the Department of Security Studies, Charles University External link..
At present, I serve as principal investigator for two research projects.
