Johanna Palmberg is an associate professor of economics, senior lecturer at Södertörn University and research leader at Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum. Palmberg defended her dissertation in 2010 at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS).

Her research interests include family businesses, corporate governance, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and social innovations. That is, issues related to entrepreneurship, civil society and societal development.

Palmberg has organized and moderated a large number of seminars and conferences with participants from business, politics and academia, in areas related to entrepreneurship, innovation, business climate, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and civil society. Publication of scientific articles is combined with publications in more popular forums and participation in the public debate.

Palmberg has previously been a visiting researcher at the University of Vienna, George Mason University, USA, and Jiao Tong University, Shanghai. In Sweden, she has previously been active at JIBS, Ratio and KTH. Her research is published in journals such as Corporate Governance - An International Review, Family Business Review, and the Journal of Small Business Economics.
