My research is about different aspects of culture and economy, not least in the contexts of books, libraries and art in public spaces. This research corresponds well with my experiences as a student in both the Humanities and in Business Administration. My Ph.D. thesis, ”Bookonomy. The Consumption Practice and Value of Book Reading” (2011), explored whether and to what extent book reading can be viewed with economic lenses as a form of consumption. At Södertörn University I am Lecturer in Business Administration and head of the Art, Culture and Economy programme at the Department for Social Sciences. I am also Head of the Publishing Studies programme at Stockholm University (Department of History). I teach Organisation theory, Cultural/Art management and Project management, among other things. As a consultant researcher I have conducted evaluations and followed projects within both the cultural and the higher education sectors. One of my key interests is the relationship between academia and its societal context. In the years of 2016-2018 I am part of the Editorial board of Kritiklabbet, and I am since 2018 a founder of The Swedish Romance Academy in collaboration with well-renowned book industry representatives.
